Recycling is a necessity. Global warming is not political. Denial of global warming is political.

Increasing carbon dioxide levels to possibly unprecedented levels concerns me, but whether it will lead to global warming nobody could be sure. I think it's reasonable to take some steps just in case, but signing onto Kyoto would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Recycling is a nice idea, but it has often become another cult. It seems cities jump on the bandwagon without adequate planning, and their recycling efforts wind up having an effect opposite that its proponents desire. In general, aluminum recycling seems to work well. In many cases the pollution caused by trucks hauling the old stuff to be recycled and the energy used in the recycling process far outweigh any benefit of the recycling itself. More rational thought and less emotion would really be nice.

Ok; I've been reading all these questions/statements from people ; ex- vice presidents..what ever. The main question is why we are getting all worked up. I am the first to understand facts and conclusions, but I am not going out to buy duct tape and water until things are definate so, we need to calm down about the global warming issue for a bit and just live life.
By the way, if you really want to know about how this is something part of POLITICAL Hype..go to wikipedia or a search engine and look up "GLOBAL COOLING" - It was the big scare of the 70's. now it's global warming...Can't wait until 30 years from now when we are worrying about "GLOBAL MICROWAVING HOT POCKETS".

recycling is good, global warming is real, but not a threat. it's a natural process that is going through a warming trend right now, it is nothing to worry about.

Recycling is good for all sorts of reasons. Global warming is a concern but is way over hyped. That is what politicians do when they want your support, they over hype the issue to make you do what they want. Al Gore is a politician.

Global warming has become a cult.

I call it "The Church of the Warming Globe"

It has its own faith tenents, and its own beliefs and rituals.
