I would have smacked the dog sh*t out of her. That would be equal, right?
(Sorry but it’s true.)

I personally believe that women cannot demand absolute equality with men. I am a woman and while I have high regards and respect for my kind and believe in championing women's cause, I have a stand that men and women cannot be considered equal in all aspects.
As much as I would like to be independent and fiery most of the time, I really appreciate it everytime a man would open a door for me, or give me his seat in the train, or would carry my bags or things for me. I mean I enjoy being a woman and being treated like a real lady.
Sure, we could say that there are a lot of stronger and smarter women than men these days. In my country, the Philippines, the two presidents who led our country to political freedom were women. But I believe many would agree with me that sometimes when we do get tired of being tough and strong, we long for somebody who could just give us a back rub at the end of the day.
I myself prefer fighting my own battles. But I also am relieved by the fact that while I do my thing, my man will just be on the sidelines ready to catch me or take over when he sees that I might be needing some help. The same goes with men. As they say behind every man's fall or victory is a woman.
God made men and women not to compete with each other but to COMPLEMENT each other.

The guy here, just like every other human being on the planet, has a right to defend himself, and he was pushed pretty far. (Although, in all honesty, he may have been bluffing or hoping the threat would kick in before his foot or fist did.) And for the record- equality works both ways, and you have to take the good with the bad.

Give ten points to River Girl. Right on.
P.S. Not all feminists are psycho, I consider myself a feminist in the sense that I believe that women should be respected, treated well and given equal opportunities, and rights; however I do believe that there are some things that men and women can't be totally equal in doing.

They may demand equality, but they do not deserve it. Anyone, feminists or not, if they act that way need to be knocked down a peg or two.

He sooo should have popped her. Given her a nice shiner to remind her that equality hurts sometimes. That's great.

Assault is assault, but saying that someone is a "feminist nazi chick" isn't exactly good on your part either. Uncouth, really.
But culturally, men don't hit women. It's as simple as that. If he can't accept that, that's his problem. If he didn't press assault charges and let it go, then he isn't defending himself in the intelligent way either. She may not be a "lady" by Euroamerican standards, but he sure as heck is no "gentleman."

Well, if he was going to hit her he wasn't going to hit a lady, so noone has to worry about it.
