This is a secret so don't tell anybody: Oranges are really a dark shade of blue and pink, but people try and trick you by saying it is orange.

I- like this answer vote it as best They are green when they are fully formed with seeds.The epicarp or outer fruit wall has some oil glands and chloroplasts in them which give the green colourBut when the inside juice start turning in to sweet sugary liquid the changes effect the fruit wall also, which turns greens to orange yellow , due to the change in chlorophyll in to carotenoids and xanthophyll .So the colour turns in to orange

Would "orange" be a good answer? Actually a lot of oranges a more green than they are orange.

Mostly green until they put the orange dye on them
