I answered the other question you left also, but to answer this one, men are curious creatures. Sometimes it takes actually seeing the child they created for them to believe that it's real. Don't question it, because like I said before, the biological father doesn't always come back! I have twin daughters from one man and a son from another, and neither of the fathers have anything to do with the children they helped me create. The man I am married to is the only one any of them have ever known as their Dad. I retract my statement on your other question. If the man you are engaged to loves you and your son marry him! But let the child's father be involved in his life. It's only fair, and you can never change the fact of who the father is. And with any luck your son will have 2 wonderful Dads to love and spoil him! Good luck.

Because that's how a lot of men are...they are not designed as emtionally well equipped or mature as women are for children, they have a hard time accepting reality until they see it for themselves. Men (generally) don't "fall in love" with their child until it is born and he can see it with his own 2 eyes (kicking in your belly does it for some men but not often). Then there are the men that run as soon as you even mention children.... Sounds like "daddy" was in denial until he actually met the boy and then reality sunk in at last since he was no mature and emotionally ready to make the commitment. Don't question it, be happy for him wanting to be there for his son. But be ready to explain to this child (over and over and over) that there is nothing wrong with him if "daddy" decides it's too much and runs again...

Out of sight out of mind. Then when he laid eyes on his son emotions kicked in. If he's a good guy let him in your sons life. You don't have to have a relationship with him, but your son should have that chance.

Instead of feeling like a man who gave out money he got to feel like a dad and liked it.
