The problem with the death penalty is that even if one innocent man is put to death then the whole system is in the wrong. Everyday we see innocent men and women being released from prison after losing many years of their lives. The death penalty is barbaric and should be done away with. It's not a Christian issue it's a human issue. Taking another life is wrong under any circumstance. All life is precious and should be treated as such.

I read the link even though I didn't need to. I am and have always been against the death penalty. I think innocent people being executed is very rare. I just don't think people should make these kinds of decisions about life and death. I totally support life in prison without parole.

I see no conflict with the death penalty and Christian Faith. The case noted here is tragic, but the guilt for an Innocent death rests on the head of the other teen who should of come forward, not in the system.

Here's an even bigger problem: If innocent men are being executed, it is the exception rather than the rule, and a tragic mistake. However, we willfully execute literally millions of unborn children each year. Should ANYONE support the death penalty in these cases?

many human beings nevertheless look to imagine that it truly is an excellent idea, in spite of miscarriages of justice (which maximum folk are not attentive to). There are 3 achievable motives for judicial punishment: reform, revenge and deterrence. the actual incontrovertible reality that governments do not look to guage those in any type of logical way at the same time as they settle on what penalty is suitable is easily one rationalization for inconsistent sentencing. As regards the shortcoming of existence penalty, reform obviously doesn't come into it because the prisoner finally ends up useless. Deterrence is a questionable reason because it doesn't look to discourage. homicide seems to carry on on an same price even if the shortcoming of existence penalty is in stress or no longer. Albert Pierrepoint, the united kingdom's very last chief executioner as a lot as abolition in 1965, concluded after a existence in which he achieved more effective than 600 human beings by putting that he replaced into adversarial to the shortcoming of existence penalty because it truly is not an effectual deterrent. this manner of excellent type of of those he achieved dedicated homicide "contained in the nice and cozy temperature of the instantaneous". In his own words, "I somewhat have come to the end that executions sparkling up no longer something, and are in problem-free words an antiquated relic of a primitive choose for revenge which takes the straightforward way and fingers over the duty for revenge to dad and mom...the difficulty with the shortcoming of existence penalty has continually been that no one needed it for all and dissimilar, yet all people differed about who might want to get off." human beings would use deterrence as a rationalization for the shortcoming of existence penalty even with the undeniable fact that the information do not help it. That brings us on to the third reason: revenge. the in problem-free words achievable reason the shortcoming of existence penalty continues to be supported is a primitive choose for revenge, and the actual incontrovertible reality that the bible helps it. the u . s . is a few distance extra non secular than the different u . s . contained in the western civilised international, and is the in problem-free words one which also makes use of the shortcoming of existence penalty. i will not believe both are not appropriate.

#1-- prove they are 'innocent'..... someone else tried to and failed.
#2-- how much do you want to spend on their HBO, Cable Internet, weight rooms/ gymnasiums, and Sealy Posturepedic mattresses?
#3-- Isn't it so much more economical to spend the $2.50 for a box of 9mm shells than to waste millions of dollars on giving them better housing than they had when they killed that little girl?
