My oldest child walked at 17 months, the second at 10 months and the third at 14 months. When they are ready (and want to) is the best answer. If they are over 18 months I would talk to the doctor. My husband walked at 8 months.

It can vary, but I heard that babies would start walking earlier if you had a pet in the home. Since I wanted a dog anyway, we got one and the baby would roll around trying to keep up with it. One day when he was 10 months old, he just stood up and started walking.

He'd been standing already, but hadn't ever taken a step. He lasted about 4 steps and then fell, but he started really early and almost passed crawling altogether. The only time he really crawls is when he's playing or tired.

All babies are different. My oldest did not start walking until he was about 15 months. I asked my Doctor about that and she said that was perfectly fine. My 6 month old is already scooting around going in reverse...and rolling every where in no time he will be crawling. Good luck with your children

It can vary greatly -- my eldest son started walking at 11 months and my youngest started walking at 16 months. There is no set schedule.

My dauther started walking about one week before her first birthday. But she was very wobbly and bo legged. By the time she was 14 months she had it down pat. By the time she was around 18/19 months she was running pretty good.
