I got a call about a week ago about winning a honeymoon - a 3 day 2 night trip to the bahamas, domnican republic, or cancun . They said all I had to do was attend a bridal show at a hotel this friday. So I said fine. I just got a call that from a different company saying the same thing only I have the other option of other states as well, but mentioning I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE AIRFARE ONLY.
They said I had to meet somewhere else this weekend. Does this sound fishy to you??

** I supposely won this from davids bridal when I went to try on dresses***

Sounds a little fishy to me, I have to say. I know there are companies here in the U.S. who will give away vacations if you come and listen to their spiel on buying land or vacation time-shares or something similar, but there is usually a catch. If you have to pay the airfare, then to me, you haven't won much of anything except some nights at a hotel (which may not be anything more than a flea-bag). On the whole, I wouldn't stake my honeymoon on their promises.

Some places will offer this for real. Sometimes there are strings attached, like fees that need to be paid for cruises, or a required meeting for them to sell you stuff, but usually the deal is as-offered. One catch that is pretty common is that you need to have your mind made up before calling the number to sign up--they won't let you call back after you call to check the details, so have some idea whether you want to go before you return the call.

Sounds like a scam to me. Anything where you have to pay up front is bogus. That' the last time you'll see your money.

If David's Bridal gave your number out, you should call them and ask about it.
