Depends what you're into?
If you like mountains and skiing go to Whistler, BC.
If you like sun and beaches and plan on coming in the summertime, you NEED to go to Tofino on Vancouver Island in BC. There's a lot of surfers and such there in the summer.
If you want to have a big mall experience, West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Aberta. Plus Alberta has one less tax than every other province so things are a bit cheaper in Alberta.
For big city experiences? Toronto, Ontario
For city party experiences? Montreal, Quebec
If you want to visit a place that has mountains, beaches, ocean, and forest all within an hour check out British-Columbia, it really is beautiful here.
If you don't like the rain or cold, I suggest visiting in the summertime. Vancouver, BC has temperatures that match LA and San Diego in the summertime.

well, a great spot for a one week vacation is in ontario! southwestern ontario along lake huron or up in central ontario in the muskoa region! They have many cottages and beaches and it's beatiful in the summer! my family rents a cottage along lake huron for a week every summer and its gorgeus. they have one of the best sunsets in the world! if your looking for more upbeat cities you could try toronto ontario or ottawa ontario Toronto has SO much to do! You can go up the CN tower, see baseball/football game at the roger centre, see concerts/basketball/hockey games at the air canada centre. Theres also the sherwood shopping centre, yorkdale mall, and the famous eaton centre. They have a lot of good stores such as abercrombie, hollister, lacoste, american eagle, etc. There is also many live theatres, movie theeaters and restaurants. In the summer you can take a ferry over to centre island where there's an amusemant park. And the CNE (canadian national exhibt) is there which is fun! lots of rides and exhibits. Also, about 20 minutes north of Toronto is a city called Vaughn where Canada's wonderland is, which is A LOT of fun.

It really depends on the time of year and what you might like to see or experience. I've lived and trucked all over Canada, winter and summer. Watch whales on either coast, spirit bears in B.C. (west coast), gray whales in the Atlantic side, watch icebergs drift off Newfoundland. Visit historic Quebec City, the Laurentians north of Montreal have some great skiing. Ontario has Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Polar Express to northern Ontario, to 1,000miles of Prairie to the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and B.C. . Crossing the MacKenzie river on an ice bridge in minus 30's in the Northwest Territories. Canada is a huge country, skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, have to be more specific to help select your best vacation spot. Time of year will help narrow options as well.

You should go to Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia, or Grosse Morne National Park in Newfoundland, or Banff, Lake louise, Jasper National Park in Alberta, Cape Breton's Cabot Trail in the Fall is absolutely wonderful, there are sooo many places. You don't have to visit only cities like some of these other answers suggest.

It depends on what you want to do here. If you want to party hardy then I would suggest Toronto/Montreal (I'm a bartender from Toronto, we have amazing downtown parties)
But if you want to go skiing/snowboarding -- I would definitely suggest Horseshoe Valley Ski Resort or Blue Mountain Ski Resort (it's about 1 1/2 hours north of Toronto).
If you're a nature freak and want to go camping, do Algonquin Park (its a national park, and its sooo beautiful)
If you want to see the prettiest view ever, go to Banff in Alberta. They have the most amazing mountain/lake scenery, and you can go skiing there as well.
Canada is very pretty, Im a Canadian -- yes and I love our BEER.
