Yes it would be. If you are not a drinker all you should do is explain to them that you don't drink. As long as you are polite about it I am sure they won't have a problem with it or find it offensive if you choose some other type of drink when you join the party...Besides it will be more fun for you to be sober because you will actually be able to remember how your coworkers act once they get a little bit tipsy! :) HAVE FUN!

Of course it would, why would you bother drinking something you dont like when you can enjoy a drink you can love! Drinking, whether alcohol or non....should be enjoyed to the fullest! And even though many believe wine is like all fancy and stuff, that doesnt mean you cant be fancy with anything else, right?

It depends on the type of event. If you're at a restraunt, order what you want. If there will be a bar, then order whatever. If it's held at someone's house, tell the host that you don't drink wine, but that you prefer beer or whatever. If you're the driver, bring a bottle of water in your purse in case they don't have anything else.

Yes. In fact, you'll probably be "breaking the ice" by ordering another drink. Someone you work with might be a closet recovering alcoholic and would appreciate someone not drinking alcohol at the table.
This same situation happened to me with a group of people and since I don't drink alcohol, I ordered iced tea. Afterwards, this person says to me that he really didn't want to have to drink alcohol. He was in AA.

Sounds o.k. to me and sensible. Do you know who is "in charge" of the holiday party? Having non-alcoholic drinks (if that's what you're drinking) is a good idea. Ask if there will be other beverages served- soda pop, water, etc. If you are non-alcoholic drinkers, there should be something else offered (for designated drivers too!)

You should just suck this one up and drink the wine, unless there is an open bar...then order whatever you want. Of course if you really hate wine, go for a 7up with a twist of lime or something along that line.

The ruptured capillaries in your face belie your claim that you do not drink wine. Put an umbrella in it - then its not wine but a martini.

Well I'd say it is. However, you might wanna make sure that "hard liquer" is covered by the company. Sometimes they only cover wine and beer.
