My boyfriend has found a HD ready, 42 inch, Samsung, rear projection TV that he wants to buy. Its a cheap price so a real bargain. The only problem is that I am buying him and XBOX 360 for Christmas and I have heard that it will mess up the TV if it is played on it. Is this true? Will he be able to play the XBOX on it without messing up the TV?

jo if the tv is an lcd (liquid crystal display) rear projection tv then the chances are that u might suffer wot they call "screen burn". wot that is, if u pause the picture for instance for longer than say 5 minutes u run the risk of having that image permanently burned onto the screen. if the tv is a digital light projection (dlp) tv then it`ll be ok. i got a dlp rear projection tv and use the xbox on it and it`s fine. if u let me know the make and model of the tv i will find out for u

i'd not get a rear projection ever for any reason. Rear projection became the cream of the crop like 5 years in the past yet now with advances in liquid crystal reveal and DLP technologies i'd not get it. till your refering to a micro projection liquid crystal reveal or DLP in which case samsung is between the finest. an entire rear projection unit (with 3 CRT tubes) has an excellent type of maitinence topics as well as burn in. If its a micro projection then hooking up your x-field will look reliable and could no longer reason any issues.

If it's a DLP, LCD, or Lycos then it probably won't damage the tv. With a plasma screen tho permanent damage could happen by getting an image stuck on the screen or "burned" into it. Be careful read the owners manuals on both the 360 and the tv.
