When I swallow I feel like there is a noise in one ear and when I hold my nostrils together and blow out my ears feel like they are popping open...almost as if something inside is keeping them stuck. What is the reason for this and how can I make it go away? About a month a go the same ear was clogged from an infection but with meds is no longer clogged. Thank you for any replies or help you can give me. Benta

Although i am uncertain as to what is causing the "popping" there is something that might help and will also help bring the inner ear back to normal. You can find "Sweet Oil" in a small brown plastic bottle at Walgreen's or any type of pharmacy. Dip a clean Q-tip into the sweet oil and carefully swab the effected ear canal twice a day. This is also the quickest way to relieve the pain of ear aches and also cures most ear infections.

Rest assured. There are tubes connecting back of our nose with the ears on both sides called eustachian tubes. when we have cold they may get blocked and close communication between the nose and ear. But once cold starts to resolve they slowly open up, some times one after the other. what you are experiencing is normal air entry into your ear through back of nose and hence popping. don't worry its normal and don't do anything about except stop worrying.

Sounds to me like you have another ear infection. I know a really old remedy that can cure that but it is sort of gross. You can piss in a teaspoon and pour it into your ear. It sounds a little crazy, but my b/f said that when he was a child he had problems with his ears and his Mother told him about that old school cure and he says that it actually works!

have an ears, nose, and throat doctor check your ear for an excess accumulation of wax. you may have water behind the wax that hasn't drained due to being blocked by the wax.
good luck!
