Depends if they are attached to the postman or not! No, dogs don't have to wear muzzles unless the owners are not sure if they wont bite. If they do take chunks out of people then to stop being sued or the dog being destroyed a muzzle is recommended.

The only way to train a dog to become a RELIABLE and SAFE guard dog is to find a responsible schutzhund trainer in your area. Any dog will fuss at an intruder and many would think twice if they knew you had two large, loud, and intimidating dogs... however it takes training from a professional to get a dog to actually react properly in a situation. There are certain ways to train a dog and there are certain things a guard dog should be/do (such as proper biting, releasing, when to react, how to react, when to back down, NO aggression, etc.) There is no home training, and trying to do so will more than likely result in an unbalanced, aggressive, unreliable animal that will eventually have to be put down.

I dont know- why would they have to. They are not generally an agressive breed. They are good guard dogs but are really quite loving and intelligent, they are protective but not agressive. I have never met one with a mean bone in its body.
