Well, we Christians were NOT the ones who rammed some planes into buildings in the name of our God. Why don't you go point out these things where they belong?

The Christian God is one of love, inclusiveness and forgiveness.
Do not confuse that with the human emotions used by Christians.
They sprout hate against Gays, abortion, and many other things whereas Jesus would have been more interested in them than those professing to be Christian!
Sadly the church is fast being taken over by fanatics and zealots who are twisting and distorting Christianity to fit their own warped thinking.
Real Christians are loving people who reach out to others with compassion and inclusiveness.
The reason Christians are seen as spiteful and vengeful is that true Christians are afraid to speak up against the the fanatics in their midst. Unless they do the churches will continue to empty, Laws will be enacted to curb their religious excesses and Christianity may well end up being driven underground.
They should remember that well known quote "All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"!!!!

They are no more spiteful and vengeful as anyone else on earth. Its the human condition, we all have the ability to be the best we can be and the worst. Its got nothing to do with what religious group you align yourself with. You could ask why we all aren't serial killers and mass murders. Some people show that side of themselves and get gratification from it so continue to be that way.

REAL Christians are not; only bigots, and those who only pretend to be Christians, are spiteful and vengeful. Peace.

This is such a sad, yet valid, question. For 15 years, I was a heroin addict, and even though I grow up in a home that believed in Jesus, I never truly considered myself a "Christian". I did not like Christians because all of the ones that I had come across were arrogant, bigoted, judgemental, ignorant, and downright weird. I was in and out of jail, not particularly a happy person, but I knew that I was not a hypocrite, at least. And then I went to jail for the last time ten years ago. It was there, while I was spending some time in solitary confinement, that I had a spiritual experience that completely overpowered and overwhelmed me. It was as if I were viewing film clips of my life where I had hurt so many people. Flash after flash of memory where I was the one GUILTY. I had been hurt by many people throughout my lifetime, and I had always focused on that. This was the first time that I became truly aware of my own wrongdoings. And I was sorely ashamed and grieved. I felt as if my guts were being wrenched out of me. It hurt to see myself clearly for the first time ever. Thankfully, I was not left alone to suffer because the Spirit of the Lord was there for me. I KNEW then that Jesus was true, real, and that I needed him. I have never used heroin again, and my life has been completely transformed. But, I have to admit that, back then, I was faced with a real dilemma. Since I had had such negative experiences with people who CLAIMED to be Christians, I was terrified that I was going to have to start hanging out with these people now that I too had discovered Christ. It's now ten years later, and to this day, I find myself hesitant to say I am a Christian because I do not want to be mis-judged. And let me make it clear - I am NOT ashamed of Christ. He is my very life. But I AM ashamed of the countless people that call themselves Christian, but behave like the devil. There is a story in the bible about the wheat and the tares. The tares grow up looking like wheat, but they really aren't. Side by side, someone who's not a farmer wouldn't know the difference. The analogy is that a true Christian is the wheat, and the fake Christian is the tare. In the end, the tares are gathered up and burned. I believe that Christians (self included) should concern themselves with making their own life a living sacrifice to G-d, rather than ridiculing the non-believers. The non-believers have no rule or regulation in which they are required to live by; however, the Christian does. Even the bible claims that in the end, there will be many that claim Jesus, but Jesus will tell them, "I never knew you." I pray that I never hear those words. On behalf of all Christians, I apologize to you, and others, for the many times you have been wounded by us. Sadly, your assessment is often correct. God bless you.

If I tell you that you shall not enter the Kingdom of Heaven without first accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, am I being spiteful and vengeful?
Or am I communicating to you my beliefs and my faith, in the hope that you will listen and turn to God?

I would reformulate it like this: Why are some people so spiteful and vengeful?

God's word is not just about loving your neighbour its also about your behaviour. And most rebellious pple just dont want to be told. God's truth hurts, even to us christians. The christian walk is not easy.!!!
