I am new to macs and while I was trying to uninstall firefox I deleted all the files that had the words mozilla and firefox in the spotlight. Could someone tell me exactly what files come up in their spotlight when they search for Mozilla and firefox. It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. I am afraid to use firefox now for fear that I could cause a crash from not having all the necessary files.

Go to Applications folder, right click on the application you want to uninstall. Then choose "Show Package Contents" in the menu. You'll see a folder named "Contents"... Move it to the Trash. Then close that window and move Firefox to the Trash. That would erase all files that came with it...

I don't understand whether you want to get rid of Firefox or use it. If you want to get rid of it, once and for all, do what the others have said but also go to
Users/your user's shortname/ Library/Application Support/ Firefox. Trash the Firefox folder. Then empty the trash.

If you want to use it, just launch Firefox. Do you find a problem when it launches? If so, save your bookmarks.html file from:
Users/your shortname/ Library/Application Support/Firefox /Profiles/ abc123.default (or whatever it says), trash abc123.default, trash the firefox.plist file from your Preferences folder, download the Firefox program again, mount the disk image and drag Firefox to your hard drive. Then launch it at least once so it makes a new profile (in place of abc123.default). Quit and relaunch Firefox a few times to be sure the problem is gone. Now put your bookmarks.html file into the new profile folder and it will replace the default one so you will still have your bookmarks.

Well, there's the Application, then the Firefox folder in the Application Support folder and there's the plist file. With most applications, you just drag them to the trash and delete their plist file. I think that pretty much deletes everything having to do with that application. If you're uninstalling it, why are you trying to use it? I'm a little confused about your situation.
