Since God has been removed from school things have gone down hill. kids learn about theories like evolution or the big bang, but are forbidden to learn about God.Christianity is a part of american history. but because nonbeilievers didnt like thier kids hearing about God, they took it out. if it was ok to remove God then they should have to remove thier false theories on how the earth came to be. it was our right to have God taught in school, and unbelievers felt it was thier right to remove it.if they will not put God Back in School, then it is our right to insist that thier false theories be removed also. it is wrong when the only schools we can send our kids to is private schools that are based on Christianity. most of us cannot afford the costs. it wouldnt be so bad, but kids are not alowwed to carry thier bibles in thier back packs to read in thier personal time and they are not allowed to talk to thier believing friends about God either. so in essense , you have taken our freedom.

ever one from every religion has the right to know the historical impact thier God has had on us. i didnt say that how to pray should ba added to the curriculum. i said that creationism should be taught next to the other theories of creation.if it is not then they should be removed to. and we should not be persecuted for carrying a Bible. I teach my kids at home about God and my son gets so confused when he says Jesus loves him and the teacher tells him thats bad.so what makes it ok to tell a five year old that what his mother told him is wrong because he is happy because he is loved?

No in reality they have not

We have allowed them

It should be choice
if a child chooses to learn about God in school then he should
if a child should chose not to learn about God then they should not

But I agree that I should not have to have my child learn about Theories that have not been proven yet

Edit:
The down fall of students in school now goes to the Parents

For one you are totally incorrect about carrying your bible around school if you so desired, you can. Can you pray or read your bible during your free time at school, absolutely. You are generalizing out of ignorance in order to sensationize your point. There is not a single public school in this country that would stop you from bringing a bible into the building and reading it during your free time. You could even join in with others of your thinking and have a little prayer meeting if you wished. The only thing the law doesn't allow, and rightly so, is for the school to actively participate, organize, or promote such religious activities. You are right that evolution and the big bang are theories but they are theories based on intellect and scientific study and they do offer the best current answers. You want to teach creationism as a standard. Creationsim doesn't even qualify as a theory, it is based on no scientific research, no scientific evidence, it is a story book solution, a fairie tale. There is one thing you religious people should think about. The day that the public school system is mandated to teach a certain religion it will be opened up to ALL religions. That is something I am sure you do not want.

I do not agree with your statement at all. Public schools are there for general education of the public, not only for Christians. I notice you are not upset the Torah is not being taught or the Q'ran or any other religion's tenants. What right do you have to impose your beliefs on these people? None. I am a Christian, and I got all of my religious instruction in Sunday school or in church. The government is not responsible for providing for your spiritual development.

And the theory of evolution has evidence to back it up, as well as the support of the international scientific community. Intelligent design does not have appeal in the world scientific comminuty. If you still choose to believe that as a part of yoru faith, great! You do not have the right, however, to impose that on everyone else.

I find it sad you think removing prayer in school has made things "go downhill". I grew up in the 70's, when we did say a little prayer in school, and all I ever did during that 20 second period of time was think "how much longer do I have to stand here quietly". And intellligent design was never taught in schools. You are misled.

Actually, there is a bigger percentage of believers in jail than in the general population.

Do you really want your children's religious belief shaped by whatever teacher they happen to have that year?

Science is not faith-based, but reality based. Evolution is a scientific "theory" based in reality and verifiable by testing using the scientific method. Creationism is religion in fake science clothing, and should not be taught in public school outside of a religion class.

No school I know of prohibits a student bring their bible to school.
They might take a dim view of proselytizing. Every child should be free from that kind of harassment. If I were a teacher, I would not allow bible reading during class teaching time, but I wouldn't allow reading a comic book either.

I find it difficult to believe that a child sitting quietly and reading their bible at lunch would be forbidden. Or that children couldn't talk about religion amongst themselves.

You can't afford to send your kid to private school? Why not just pray to God to send money so you can save your child from the heathens? Surely he will provide. Oh, wait......get several of your friends together to pray for it, All you have to do is have the faith of a mustard seed and ask in Jesus' name and it will be provided
.
Good luck.

Was there a question in there, because I didn't see it? It is this kind of thinking that creates another Hitler. The difference between the THEORIES of creation and the FACT of god is different. But, just as the question of gay marriage, where will it end. What should we and should we not teach our children? What valuable information is lost due to this kind of thinking? What about the things that you might have missed to the legal issues about teaching it? God finds a way to make his presence known in America. I wouldn't worry about that. However, I worry about people trying to hide information, and keep it away, as so there is no other choice but god. Children are taught theories. Teachers explain that these are only theories and have not been proven true. Please, check out a play named "Inherit the Wind." I think you could learn a lot about this kind of stuff. After all, it is based on the very same thing you are speaking of. Oh, and think of someone else besides yourself. You selfish thing. Think of all the embarassed kids who aren't Christian. I am a Christian, but I am not going to supress or coerce someone into practicing my religion. God preaches that you cannot be forced into Christianity, you must come of your own. Not to mention, this country is based on freedom, one of those freedoms is freedom of religion. Don't force kids to leave school and have to go to a private school on their own terms if they are not Christian. It is the parents job to teach their kids about Chistianity, as mine did for me. Kids are alowed to carry their bibles to school. We do. (I am 15.) Their are allowed freedom of speech in school as well. We talk about Christianity. Also, these theories are a science, and therefore, taught in a science class. So please, educate your children, and leave the other children alone.

Public schools do not have the time or resources to put everyone's theories about deities in the classrooms. There are hundreds of recognized religions. For the public schools to teach about every religion is just too much---there would be no time to teach anything else. Besides, how many parents want their young children learning about all religions and deities?
Or did you just want your specific deity and religion taught? Surely you wouldn't want to discriminate against religions other than your own.

As far as I know the schools in my area are also forbidden from teaching the big bang theory and the theory of evolution thanks to Christian outcry like this. And you cannot bring one religion into schools without bringing them all equally and no one would be able to teach all of the religions of the world equally and unbiased.

As far as the problems in schools today with kids bringing guns to school and all the violence in school. That I believe is the fault of parents for not taking a more active role in raising their children and showing an interest in what their kids are getting involved in.

Students have a right to carry a Bible in school, a right to pray, and a right to meet with others of their faith.

Teachers have the right to talk about the Bible as a work of literature and to discuss its impact on our history and culture.

Teachers may not lead prayers during school hours, though they may lead prayers during an after school activity like young life or fellowship of christioan athletes. Teachers may not teach the Bible as fact nor prostolotize .

I Know this as a fact as I am a public school teacher.

Many christian political groups twist these rules to make them sound like the government is persecuting christians, this is done to gain the support of other christians. It is not true, period.

It would be unfair to promote christianity in a public school as it would be unfair to promote hinduism, islam, or atheisim.

The theories you have a problem with are heavily supported by sceience and do not nessicarily conflict with the Bible or christianity. In fact the big bang was orginally supported by the catholic church to show evidence of God creating the universe. I do not care if you believe them but they are science based not faith based.

Ummmm

Sorry to bust your bubble.
But "God in School" was not as 'big a thing' as you might believe.

'False theories'; Schools are not allowed to teach false theories, only to teach that which can be proven. Christianity cannot be proven and therefore cannot be taught as a 'Science'. It is a 'Faith' because it has no proof what-so-ever, just as every other faith on the planet suffers from.

It is not the exposure to any religion that changes the kid in the classroom. It is the tolerance of their misbehavior both in school and at home.

"A Bible in their backpacks"...???
Most children now complain that they are carrying as much as 30 pounds of books through the school day. Doctors have actually recommended something be done about it as children are now experiencing back pains due to these excessive loads.

No--------the reason is not because of non-believers. It is because there are too many different religions to share equal time with, and we cannot put one over the other.

This country was not based upon Christianity. Many, many, of our forefathers were not Christians, but Deists, and said all people could worship as they saw fit. To name a few, Thomas Jefferson, the John Adams, James Madison, and Ben Franklin. That is the way it should be.

As the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion.."(Treaty of Tripoli, 1797 - signed by President John Adams)

"The civil rights of none shall be abridged on account of religious belief or worship, nor shall any national religion be established, nor shall the full and equal rights of conscience be in any manner, or on any pretense, infringed.'' - James Madison (Original wording of the First Amendment; Annals of Congress 434 (June 8, 1789).)

These are just 2 of many examples saying this is not a Christian nation.

You are doing a great job of killing of Christianity!!

Fanaticism is never acceptable. Far from spreading the word you are putting people off wanting to listen. Many church goers now do not go to church too ashamed to be linked with such sentiments as yours.

You are not so much Christian as completely anti anyone who is not a believer!!!!!

Such indoctrination of children and dictation of what can be taught in school is more reminiscent of the Nazi era than Christianity!!!

What would God say about that!!!
