My best friend,christian woman, married a muslim man. I thought about choosing them as godparents of my future child, but I wasn't sure if I can do it or not, or if it exists in islam a similar thing....

No there is no such god mother or god father in Islam. there is only one God in islam which is call ALLAH.

There is few things which are close to baptism but not exactly baptism....when a child born...in Muslim religion, you have to sacrifice the animal on God(Allah's Name ) and you also have to shave his/her head and few more small things...its all from Sunnah( Muslims prophets ways which he taught to his people.
As far as God father or mother is not a Muslim thing how ever there should be one Imam of every family , from you have to follow the interpretation of Quran's laws and regulations.

No there is no such thing as baptism in Islam or having a god mother/father.We have our family and friends carry out those responsibilities just the same as godparents.
I have a God father so to speak who is my fathers friend and he is a prominent Christian.

firstly we don't get baptised, secondly the Azan (call to prayer) and Shahadah (declaration of faith) are whispered into her right ear. A piece of a chewed date is fed by a pious Muslim into her mouth.

There is no concept of 'godparents' in Islam.

no...but in islam or muslimism there is said that never say (oh) by disgrace to parents otherwise he who does that will go to hell
means we have to respect our parents till end .
i think its great..
