What brand hair dye works best on black hair?

None if you want to change the color you have to strip the black out first. I bought 2 color stripper kits (my hair is long) and removed all the black before I could get back my natural color.

Actually it depends on a few simple factors:
If you are going a lighter shade you will not get much out of grocery store brand hair colors because you need a stronger peroxide than 20%, so start with at least a 40% peroxide when mixing your color. The color bottle should say HI LIFT or tell you what kind of peroxide to use. This eliminates the need for "hair stripping" and much less damage to your hairs' porosity.

If your hair is already colored always use a filler so that the color will come out even all over. If you are not sure which color filler to buy, use a neutral for any color. Try to use a sealing color conditioner after you color, because regular conditioner will break down the color.

No brand of hair dye really works good on black hair black hair is usually very black or a dark brown. in which case it doesnt take to color easily. the best way to color black hair is to bleach it although this is very difficult. all colors pretty much work the same but look for colors specifficly made for black hair as a start not any specific brand you just arent gonna wanna use herbal essence it will dry your hair out. and more than likely the black brands will have a good moisturizer in it

The best brand of hair color to use on black hair is Adore. It's sold at most Beauty Supplies Stores!! Depending upon your current hair color you may need to lighten it first with hair peroxide number 20 (for darker hair) or number 10 (for lighter hair), some people whom have dyed thier hair black may need to use peroxide number 30!! Just keep in mind the stronger the peroxide, the more damage to your hair!!

either way i highly recommend a trip to the hairdressers or ring a salon and ask their advice takes a lot of stripping , the colour, and u really don't want to damage your hair ... if u are looking for a change i would recommend highlights or low lights , maybe strips of colour rather than a dramatic change , unless that's the look u are going for

for me it depends on the girl. Like I might notice a girl with black hair and think she is totally hot yet see a girl with blond hair that is meh and vice versa.
