I think dig-squat-bury is an ingrained process in all cats. I've often wondered why my older cat has STOPPED burying her poop. Fresh changed box, she'll go in and leave a pile smack in the middle and leave. The younger one buries more of her leavings than she does. He'll even make special trips to do so.
But then again, my youngest tries to bury EVERYthing, even paws the floor around his food dish.

Some kittens will do this it's not a bad thing trust me. When my cat had her kittens I had to show them how to scratch at the litter and how to cover up their messes. Also, most cats or kittens will burry their poop if they have lived or were born outside.

Cats normally bury their poop. Be thankful that your kitten does. It means that he will use the litter box and that his poop won't be stinking up your house because it's covered.
I had a cat once that used the litter box but never covered his poop. Gross! It stunk the house up.

Cats have always done this...going wayyyy back to wild cats. This is to help hide their tracks so prey can't find them. Bring in domestication and that is one thing that has stuck with them. Some don't care, others do. Don't fret so much about his habits - unless he's burying his business in your house plants =)
Enjoy the new addition and take lots of pictures as he will be a big boy soon enough =)
Happy Holidays!

it is a comon thing i can only have outside cats and they all burry their poop. i'm not sure why they do it but they just do in fact every cat i have ever owned including indoor ones before having kids burried their poop and if they didn't have enough litter to do so would find things to put on top of it.

Most cats bury their poop and cover their pee by INSTINCT. Some cats get too lazy to do that, but as a rule, they do bury or cover their waste products. They are very clean animals.

Most of the cats that I've had bury their poop. Much nicer than dogs in that respect.

I have never even heard of a cat that didnt burry their waste. All cats do it that is why we give them litterboxes to go to the bathroom in. and if you had other cats that didnt burry their waste, some don't and if their litter box is dirty they wont burry their waste and they may not even use their litter box any more!

Most cats do bury their poop, and Siamese are a very smart breed. They like to talk, most play fetch, many can open doors. They usually come when called too. I had one as a kid, he would walk on a leash through the park like he was a dog. Siamese cats are great!
