How do I explain tell someone I am not interested because of their smoking?

I am a former smoker and cannot stand to be around those who do. I also think it is a complete turnoff. I think my adversion is this bad because I used to smoke. However, how do I expain to someone who wants to go out with me that I am not interested because of their smoking habit. I really don't know what to say to them.

say "I dont smoke and I dont care to be around it"
simple tell them how you feel, if they take offense then you were even more right to not go out with them

Hon, I have had this problem too.

Once I met this really cool guy..he was sooo sooo into me.. and I was open to getting close to me.. he said he smoked occasionally.. and I was a little leary of that.. because I am not a smoker, althought I might smoke sometimes at a bar or something, so I thought that was occasionally.

Girl, he smoked first thing in the morning!!

I just had to tell it to him straight.

I am too old to play games, and I think people deserve honesty at least.. I know I would.

say "You smoke I used to smoke and I quit. I cannot have a relationship with a smoker... If you ever kick the habit get back to me."

just say " I'm sorry I can't go out with you because of the smoking."It is not so hard to be honest and forthright. maybe she is into you enough that she will give up smoking.

You cannot stand the smoke - your allergic to it.
