Can Muslim's eat Kosher food? I don't think so because true Kosher food is supposed to be blessed or certified by a Rabbi (isn't it?)

Yes, Muslims can (and often do) eat Kosher food which is acceptable as Halaal. But the reverse isn't true. Halaal standards are lower than kosher standards, so kosher keeping Jews won't eat Halaal. In the Middle East much of the food produced is certified as both Kosher and Halaal just so that it can be used by both communities.

However, Kosher has nothing to do with it being "blessed by a Rabbi". There are no blessings involved in kosher certification. Rather, it is another form of "health inspection" if you will. It is a verification that the equipment is clean and hasn't been used to process unkosher food. It is a verification that the animal is a kosher animal and has been properly killed, bled, washed, soaked and salted to remove all the blood. There are many things involved. Kosher food is just food that a Rabbi has deemed to be OK to eat based on the rules in the books of Moses. With all the different foods available these days, it can get pretty complicated to figure out what's OK for a Jewish person to eat and what's not. So they started marking things as Kosher or not Kosher. I don't know what the regulations regarding clean and unclean food are for Muslims, so I couldn't tell you whether all Kosher foods are OK for Muslims, but I can tell you that it's not going to be wrapped in some mysterious spell by a Jew. Find out if a specific food marked as Kosher is considered OK to eat by Muslims, and just go by that.

Yes they can eat Kosher food. You might be surprised how much of the foods you eat are Kosher. Do you ever check the can goods, the milk, the bread, etc., that you buy to see if there is a Kosher emblem of them? Most people would not even know what to look for.

Really, Kosher restriction is much more strict than Halal is. Alot is allowed in Halal that is not allowed in Kosher. The killing of meat is almost alike in the two, but there are alot of foods forbidden in Kosher that are not in Halal.

Yes they can. The laws that generally determine whether something is "halal" will allow a Muslim to eat Kosher food, or even many Christian foods if they've undergone the correct procedures. It doesn't work the other way around though. Jews will not consume food that's "halal."

By the way, some foods, e.g., fish, vegetables, are generally OK ("halal") even if not submitted to any particular ritual.

You have a thinking daughter. Kosher food is blessed and considered "clean". Muslims have similar dietary laws called halal. You may have seen "halal" meat markets in your area. As 'People of the Book' they do share many beliefs - this is one of them. So, if its blessed - either kosher or halal - it is acceptable to both.

There are several issues with Kosher:

1. In Judaism, the rules and methods of slaughtering are not open and published. Unlike in Islam, where any adult sane Muslim can slaughter an animal by following the rules prescribed by Shariah, in Judaism only one kind of Rabbi, known as the Sachet, may slaughter Kosher animals. The Sachet is specially trained for this purpose and no other Jew can slaughter an animal.

Although Jews say that they slaughter in the name of God, we do not know what else they say in Hebrew while slaughtering. Their prayers and methods of slaughtering are in the hands of a few people and are not generally known.

so really no we cant ea kosher food.

They don't have a choice they can't eat non-kosher food because most of it is also non-halal (muslim equivalent of kosher), and all that's left is kosher, which is also mostly halal food.

A practicing Muslim would not eat Kosher food, even non-meat products today have a halal sign on them to let Muslims know it's okay for them to eat it. (not cooked in pork fat and no alcohol). Also I think Muslims would be sensitive eating food that is meant for people of another faith.
