Yes, you can do it. Try to keep yourself busy and focus your mind on something. That way, you will not think about him and just wake up one day and realize that you no longer love him.

Best thing is the worst thing to hear. Time, Time is the best cure.
But also you have to make a conscious effort. You have to decide that you really want to let go. It's hard to really let go because the pain and hurt is the last thing to connect you to the failed love--and giving that up can be hard. You have to finally admit it is done and you can't have what you want. When you can decide you really want to let go then everytime a thought comes into your mind good or bad (about the person) just stop and think about something else. (even if its singing lyrics to a song really loud so you can't hear yourself think about him) Just move on to another topic.

Spending time with others helps, staying busy, learning something new. A rebound relationship helps some but I have found they can be more destructive than anything.

Good luck.

I've been personally thru this myself. Fastest way to fall out of love:

1) don't run away from what ur feeling, fastest way of moving on from feelings is giving them as much attention as they demand. if ur miserable then you need to EXPRESS it. Espression = discarding/letting go of emotion. your friends or just writing it down would be great. but suppress and avoid how you feel and it'll only grow bigger and the whole process of moving on will be tougher than it already is. remember that anything worth doing is hard, not easy...

2) find out why you were in love with them, finding the logic behind emotion helps a lot. falling in love is usually because of a need, a need to lose yourself in someone from life's mundane everyday things, to share your life, or simply to experience life fully. know what you needed and you'll understand how to replace them with something/someone perhaps even better.

2) when you feel up to it, focusing on someone NEW can help a lot. especially someone who u may not fall for hard like the last, someone who'll shower you with attention, show u a good time and make u feel great about urself.

3) be happy. have fun. you'll see the difference without them, how better off you are. soon you'll realize you wouldn't go back even if you were able to.

hope that helps! <3

if you wont feel miserable - then its not really love.

just try not to hurt yourself more by keeping yourself busy - go out, workout, pick up a hobby, re-connect with friends or family members. focus your attention elsewhere. when you start thinking about it, think about something else! dont, dont, dont communicate with him for a while. it would be very tempting, but keep in mind that you love _yourself_ more than him. but you should have a good cry sometime. tears cleanse the heart =)

goodluck.

when you fall in love with someone it is very hard to not love that person, however you need to figure out are you REALLY in love with that person or just the idea of it. make a list of pros and cons of your relationship, and dont dwell on him if you start thinking about him call a friend and talk about anything but him. keep yourself busy before you know it you will say to yourself "why did i love him"
