Technically, the Romans had to carry out the sentence that Caiaphas had levelled upon Jesus.
The fact is that that Pontius Pilate, Governer of Judea, tried every trick in the book trying to save Jesus.
First, when Caiaphas levels the charge of rebellion against Rome at Christ, Pilate says, wryly, that if he had to crucify everyone who speaks against Rome, then, he'd have to line the road to Rome with crosses and reminds him that they have the Liberty of Speech and Religion, since Rome is a Democracy. When Caiaphas accuses Jesus of having claimed to be King of the Jews, he says "Then let Herod, your King, judge Him. I see but a Teacher and not a criminal before me." And when that fails, Caiaphas has the murderer Barabbas freed and puts Jesus in his place, Pilate makes the famous plea to the people of Jerusalem.
"Ecce, huomo!" Look at the man! is a very famous speech from which we got a lot of sayings that we use to this day. After trying to get Jesus to claim his Roman citizenship, which he could have, being in Roman Treaty land, Pilate first tried to get Him to do that, but Jesus refused saying "I was born a Jew and I shall die a Jew."
This is the speech where we got the famous saying "Vox Popvlii, Vox Dei" The Voice of the People is the Voice of God; when he says "Look at this man! Is He a murderer?" Praising Him as a Teacher, he implores the People of Jerusalem to speak out against the injustice. "By your Silence you condemn Truth!" is another oft used quote from this speech. And finally, when none speak, he says in disgust "I wash my hands off you!"
It is because Jesus was crucified for the claim that He had posed as the King of the Jews, that the Plaque above the Cross reads INRI or "Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm.", Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.
So, yes, Jesus was crufied by the Jews, even though the hands that did it were Roman.
Merry Christmas!!!!

No; by the Romans, who ruled Israel at the time. The Roman governor Pontius Pilate felt that Jesus was a political threat to the empire; that he may cause the Jews to rebel against the Romans.
The last pope, John Paul II, gave a public apology to the Jewish nation at the Western Wall in Jerusalem in 2002, saying that for centuries the Jews have been WRONGLY ACCUSED of crucifying Jesus.

The Christ Principal was not and can not be crucified. The man Jesus was order by the Roman Government to be Nailed to the Cross but the Jews were the 'deciders' of Jesus's fate. The Jews very rarely ever do their own bidding. They are always manipluating someone else to do their dirty work... just like they are doing in America today.

The actual nails were driven by the Roman soliders (nationality unknown as only about 10% of Roman soliders were Itatlian).
But the crucifixion was driven by a group of Jewish religious leaders.

Jesus was criticized by Jews and crucified by Romans, or so it says in the Bible. I guess they didn't have a New York or Flordia in those days, too bad; that probably would have been a lot nicer for everyone involved!

Crucified, and probably not by the Jews. But historical information from that period is a little shaky.

Everything leading up to Jesus dying on the cross was preordained. There's a debate going on that Judas was only doing what God had planned for him to do when he betrayed Jesus. Everyone, no matter whom they were, did what they did because Jesus was sent to us for 33 years to teach and to ultimately die for our sins and return to his true home as was God's plan, so what does it matter who crucified Him?
