Has anyone ever used prosper to get a loan? is it reliable?

I do not have the best credit and I need to get a loan to retain a lawyer for divorce. I found prosper, but I just want to make sure it is okay to use. Do you know of anyone else that lends to people without great credit?

I have never used prosper but from what I have heard it is very reputable. Other than payday loan companies -and we all know not to use them - it's about the only thing there is.
