You tip your hairdresser 20% of what it costs you for the service(s) you get from him/her. If you receive a perm or color along with a cut I suggest 25-30% if it comes out really nice. Most salons dont allow tipping the shampooer unless it's a really high scale one.

$5-10 for hairdresser, $2 if someone else washes your hair. Stick with the $5-10 if your hairdresser washes your hair, no need to give them an additional $2.

My hairdresser recently did a wonderful job giving me a new short cut. It took about an hour, but it turned out absolutely wonderful! I made sure to tip her well (I believe it was 5 dollars) and thank her personally, as her effort was worth it!
As for the washing part, mine is always so short that it doesn't even need the wash, rather it's just sprayed with water and cut that way.

Normally I will tip hairdresser 5 or 10 dollars depending on how long I have to sit in a chair. The faster i'm in & out the larger the tip. I have a busy schedule & don't like to waste time. My hairdresser washes my hair herself. To ask another person to wash your hair when you are her client is ridiculous. The day that would happen to me. I would tip the hair washer & the hair dresser would get zip.

10% of the total for the haircut not any products you purchase. I don't tip for a different wash girl. Also if the person who cut your hair is the owner you don't have to tip.

Don't tip. You are paying for a haircut. You don't have to make an extra payment. The day that i tip my hairdresser is the day that i shave my hair off !!

If I just get my hair trimmed I usually tip $2-$3. If I am getting something that takes a lot of time and they do a really good job I give them 15%.... I usually go ahead and give the shampooer a dollar, but only if they are super nice!

Tip the one who does your hair 15%. I would give the person who washes my hair $1.

10%, they pool the tips, so there is no need to tip anyone for washing your hair.
