Maybe you should eat a little less than usual . and await the correct hour for lunch...

I would eat something light for breakfast at that time if you are hungry, don't force yourself to eat. Then if at your regular breakfast time you are hungry, eat a small snack like an apple or banana, or a breakfast bar, or crackers. That will help to tide you over till lunch. Doing this one day shouldn't affect your diet, and it is better to keep your bodies blood sugar at a constant level instead of letting it dip too low by skipping meals. And since you would be up longer than you usually are, you have potential to burn extra calories throughout your day just by moving around normally.

I think you should'nt have breakfast before the MRI.
Get breakfast after

How To Prepare

Before your MRI test, tell your health professional and the MRI technologist if you:

Are allergic to any medicines. The contrast material used for MRI does not contain iodine. If you have a known allergy to the contrast material used for MRI, tell your health professional before having the test. Sometimes the benefits of having this test may outweigh the risks.

Are or might be pregnant.

Have a pacemaker, artificial limb, any metal pins or metal parts in your body (especially in the eyes), metal heart valves, metal clips in your brain, metal implants in your ear, tattooed eyeliner, or any other implanted or prosthetic medical device (such as a medicine infusion pump). Also, tell your health professional if you have worked around metal or if you have recently had surgery on a blood vessel. In some cases you may not be able to have the MRI test.

Have an intrauterine device (IUD) in place. An IUD may prevent you from having the MRI test done.

Become very nervous in confined spaces. You need to lie very still inside the MRI magnet, so you may need to have the test done with open MRI equipment. It is not as confining as standard MRI machines. You may need medicine to help you relax.
Have any other health conditions, such as kidney problems or sickle cell anemia, that may prevent you from having an MRI using contrast material.

Wear any medication patches. The MRI may cause a burn at the patch site.

You may need to sign a consent form that says you understand the risks of an MRI and agree to have the test done. Talk to your health professional about any concerns you have regarding the need for the test, its risks, how it will be done, or what the results will indicate. To help you understand the importance of this test, fill out the medical test information form (What is a PDF document?).

You may need to arrange for someone to drive you home after the test, if you are given a medicine (sedative) to help you relax.

For an MRI of the belly, you may be asked to not eat or drink for several hours before the test.

Definitely eat something before you go in there for your appointment. I got an MRI done last week and waited TWO HOURS because they were behind schedule. Needless to say, I was ravenous by the time I left! GOOD LUCK with the results!

Have a lighter breakfast when you get up - if you have protein then I would suggest that (as it will stay with you).
You don't know in advance if your MRI will be delayed or if things will just take longer than expected, so this way you will have something in your system.
If you are done on time you can have another light snack/meal.
Good luck on your MRI.

I'd wait until the normal time, because otherwise your gonna be hungry for lunch 2 hours earlier. Especially if your not hungry when you wake up at 4.

I would say if you are hungry - definitely eat when you wake up - especially since it may be a long while until lunch.

I don't get hungry if I get up that early. In a case like yours, I'd have something very light, not the regular one.
