Let's say thousands of years from now we have the technology to mass produce food in factories without any need for plants or animals. Would it matter then if we let all species besides humans go extinct? I'd be interested in hearing the opinions of all Gods/religions.

God cares for His ENTIRE creation.

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not
worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us,
19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the
revealing of the sons of God,
20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope;
21 Because the creation itself will be delivered from the bondage of corruption, into the glorious liberty of the children of God,
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
(Romans 8: 19 - 22)

This is the SCOPE of Christ's redemptive work - He died for it. He must care very much for it, don't you think?

One of the three things God gave Adam and Eve to do was to take care of the animals. That is in Genesis

It'll never happen. The only mass-producing food factory is the Earth and all its animals. Besides, how boring would it be with no animals?

Givin the way we humans treat this earth and its other occupants I'm guessing that if there was a god he could not possibly care about anything other than humans. Otherwise he would have banished us all a long time ago.

God cares about all life and so do I. It would matter, because I like my dog and all the other beautiful creatures. God created the animals and the whole universe just for us, if we kill ever thing, it would be like painting your best picture, then tearing it up.

yes of course he cares about others besides humans. thats why he created the birds, the ants on the ground, the fish in the sea. he cared enough to create them and love them as they are. he cared enough to make sure they were fed by his creation!

He certainly cares about my old grey cat. And I dont see how He could not care about my neighbour's gerbill.
So I would say He does, and He wiggles His noodley appendages for other things than humans.
