I have 2 turkey joints weighing 14lbs 4oz in total which I intend to cook together. The larges joint weighe 7lbs 9 oz.

In this case they should cook in roughly the same amount of time. This being as they are very close in weight. BUT as a rule if cooking two pieces of meat together they will cook differently as a smaller piece of meat is smaller so it will cook quicker. Even if both looked cooked on the outside the inside takes longer for the heat to penetrate so it takes longer to cook.

Only if you place them on top of one another like some pork loins that I have seen lately. Otherwise, use individual weight if they are place side by side so that the air/heat can circulate. Calculate for the smaller weight and then check your meat, this way you won't have one over cooked.

Position them so they are not touching each other in the oven... so that heat can circulate between them... then only cook them based on their individual weight... not their weight combined.

You should always go for the temperature when cooking meat, not time.
