You didn't say if you knew her name or anything else about her. I'm assuming that you don't. Most all court records such as birth and death certificates are a matter of public record, as are deeds for property, etc. Try to find a name first. That should be your main goal for starters. Look in phone books, online searches, geneology records, military records if you can get access. County and city tax records are also another good place to look. Think of roughly how old she may be and try to get in touch with someone from the place where you born. Maybe someone knows her or a relative of hers. It's all like a huge puzzle. You just have to find the pieces. I really hope you find her.

For a start how old r u? have your adoptive parents told you why you were adopted, sometimes finding your birth parent isnt always a good option. I would suggest (if you havent already done so) asking your adoptive parents if they knew where she lived at the time, her full name. They will have your adoption papers and they should have your birth mothers details on them .You havent mentioned your birth father, do you see him, does he know you exist, sorry of these qestions are personal but they are very relavant. if you find out where she used to live then you may be able to trace her from there... i hope you find your birth mother ... keep us posted

If I may ask,how old are you? I have heard some agencies may not give you any info until you are 18. I would suggest maybe trying to contact the agency that handled your adoption. Do your adopted parents have any information about your birth mother, like her name, your original birth certificate etc?

I dont know what the laws are in Maine but try contacting the adoption agency and requesting non identifying information. you can also fill out a consent for contact form and if you birth mother has filled one out too then the agency will let you know. or you cold always petition the courts but if the records are sealed it is highly unlikely that they will open the records. good luck!
