It's a mass quantity of caffiene. But just a little bit of chocolate like that? You would have seen the side effects almost instantly. Long story short, it gives them diarhea and elevates their heart rate. The fatalities happen when there is too much chocolate and the heart rate is too high, and the pet suffers a heart attack. But by now, you would have most definitely seen something if she had eaten too much. If he didn't even throw it up or have diarhea, he didn't eat much at all. Try keeping the chocolate somewhere safer next time. Cats are sneaky :)
And cats and dogs are not natural diabetics. Otherwise you would have to monitor ALL food intake, not just sweets. That was a silly answer. It's just chocolate because of the cocoa.
And cats are just as susceptible to the poisons in chocolate, it's just that they are more finicky eaters and tend to consume less. That's why there is a bigger problem with dogs than cats. It is still toxic to cats. Just so you know. I'm sure you're cat is fine, there were just a lot of innacurate answers on here, and I didn't want you to get a false sense of security that it was okay. Cat's shouldn't eat chocolate, period. But a little bit, probably won't kill them. Just try to avoid it.

If it was a little bit the kitty should be just fine. Chocolate is poisonous to cats if given in excess. Happy Holidays!

If kitty sneaks a little chocolate it probably won't hurt him but don't ever give it to him. It's toxic. Look at this website. It tells what chocolate does to kitties and what to do if yours eats it. Good luck!

If cats eat chocolate their guts starts to rot causing gastroventalinitis, but don't worry there is a cure. Just ask your vet.

The caffeneine in the chocolate might hurt him. But you may get lucky and it won't. It depends on how much he ate.
