I'm planning on starting training in January and I can't wait. But I was wondering how often I should go...

I'm in above-average shape, and don't have anything else to do with my time. Would going every day be good for me or too much (if there is such a thing)?
Thanks in advance.

as often as you are able.

Even though you are in above average shape you will likely be sucking wind your first class.

until january you might want to try to get your endurance up even further, do some HIIT training (high intensity interval training) type of cardio. Where you do 2 minuites of sprints with 1 minuite jogging periods in between ("rest" periods) for 20-30 min (depending on how good your endurance is now).

You should go as much as you can. As the previous posters have stated you will get winded in the beginning; you have to build up your cardio and your muscle endurance. Going everyday might be a little too much but if it is your body will let you know.

Train as often as possible. It's not like weight training where you have to give yourself a off day. However it's strongly suggested to take at least one day a week off to let your body recover.

bluto is correct about endurance and everything else.

Good luck!

Study any martial art every day. Martial Arts is a way of life not just a class. If you want to really excel at it you have to master the techniques, not just do them, and the only way you can do that is to study them every day.
