You have to be consistent when training a pup, it probably looks at you with a big question mark.

A treat is reinforcement of something you want to teach it like it's name which doesn't need lots of treat just a good loving pet and repeat it name each time with lots of loving pets and good dog.

Teaching it to come is usually best with a loud whistling and treat reinforcement and petting good dog start out a few feet away and whistle and call it by name and treat when comes then further and make a game of it so every time you call it's set in it's mind Oh boy treat and loving pet

After a while you can slack off of the treat and just reinforce with loving pet but still have a treat now and then.

Your dog will be the most loyal friend you have and will follow you everywhere when it is growing up and the best way to teach it is with love not anger (there will be those times) get it things to chew raw hide chew thing and when it get your shoes tell it NO BAD its name in a stern voice and never hit it with your hands because that what pets and loves it

Get a long string or rope and when he will not come to you. Gently pull on the rope saying come the whole time. When the pup gets to you praise him. It will understand in time. I don`t know why but all the dogs I have go throuth what I call the teenage period of there life. Around 6 or 7 months old. Even though they know the command and have listened to it before there is a small rebelious period that they will not listen to you. After a couple of frustrating weeks they get over it. Good luck.

First of all he is a puppy, and their attention span is like that of a flea. Second and most important of all, you will need to become consistent in what you want and how you will get it. Dogs, like human, are creatures of habit. What creates a habit? Consistency and repetition. You do the same thing over and over 1000 times, it has become a habit. So, put a collar on your puppy and attach a light leash on it, 10-15 feet long. When you call him and you do not get an immediate response gently reel him in, all the while praising him for coming. Praise the hell ot of him when he gets to you and make it a positive experience. The thing to remember is this, always do it the same way, and never give him an opportunity not to come. THIS IS THE GOLDEN RULE FOR TRAINING A DOG. NEVER TELL YOUR DOG TO DO SOMETHING YOU CANNOT MAKE HIM DO. don't tell your dog to come when he has the opportunity to just go wherever he wants. Always make him do what you want. NO LEASH ON HIS NECK, NO OBEDIENCE. I hope this helps.

Perhaps he's deaf. Have a veterinarian give him a hearing test. Of course, this may depend on how old this dog is. Most likely, if this dog is over 7, give or take a few years, he may have a possibility of deafness. Have you been playing any really loud music at home? Is he exposed to loud noises?

Hey there,
If you want to stop unwanted behaviours of your dog you need to follow a good training course. One of the best I found online is http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=572

. It really helped me a lot. I saw very quick improvements thanks to some gentle, simple and effective tecniques they teach in the course
Bye

Learning how to train your dog will improve your life and hers, enhance the bond between you, and ensure her safety and it can be a lot of fun. Dogs are usually eager to learn, and the key to success is good communication. Your dog needs to understand how you’d like her to behave and why it’s in her best interest to comply with your wishes. i whistle to my dog to make her come if she wont listen for her name...she comes very quickly with a whistle.

what you are doing to train your dog to come is fantastic...treats and praise are great...eventually your dog will come on command.

you really just need to be patient and persistant!
