There is a song called "I can only imagine" by MercyMe
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When Your face
Is before me
I can only imagine
{Chorus}:
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for You Jesus or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in Your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

It often comes as a surprise to some Christians that their eternal state will not be spent in some time-less splendid place called Heaven; but rather here, on earth – but an earth renewed, restored and redeemed. Of course, when we die, our souls (or spirits) go to be with Jesus in Heaven, where God dwells (). But an ethereal heaven is not what is in view when Scripture speaks of the saints’ final destiny. After the general resurrection and the final judgment, the saints will inhabit a new creation – the promised New Heavens and New Earth. And this, we shall see, is the “heaven” of the saints.
What will it be like in this New Heaven and New Earth?
(1) The absence of sin: Sin, its curse and its effects will be
completely removed from the cosmos (Rom. 8: 19-21; Rev. 22:3).
(2) No more sickness, death and decay. In the world to
come there will be no such thing as death (Rev. 21: 4).
(3) Peace, harmony and security. There will be no violence in the world to come – not among people and not in nature (Is. 65: 25).
(4) Righteousness. There will be no injustice, exploitation, prejudice, ‘survival of the fittest,’ extravagance, waste, penury, wrongs, crimes, and other such that presently plague our world because of unrighteousness.
(5) Glory and Brilliance. The “New Jerusalem” (whether it refers to a real city or whether it is symbolic of the glorified Church) is an image of unspeakable glory. It is endued with the glory of God (Rev. 21: 11).
(6) Rest. The saints’ warfare with the flesh, the world and the Devil is at an end (Is. 40: 2) for the saints will have entered their “sabbath rest” (cf. Heb. 4: 1).
(7) Eternal Life. Eternal life does not only mean a never ending existence, it also denotes a quality of existence which results from God’s favor, blessing and fellowship.
(8) The presence of the Triune God. Glorified saints will enjoy unimpeded fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ, the Father and the Holy Spirit. Thus, heaven – the dwelling place of God – will be fused with the earth, the dwelling place of humanity .
Admittedly, the Scriptures say very little about conditions in the renewed earth; but we may legitimately extrapolate some ideas from Biblical evidence. Because it is the present earth and cosmos that is to be renewed as we noted, we may legitimately expect, as with our resurrection bodies, for there to be both continuity and discontinuity of conditions in the new earth. In other words, many things will be the same as now and many things will be radically different.
The new earth will be recognizable as the earth, the habitat and environment of humanity. There will be plants, trees, animals, and people – glorified people. Isaiah speaks of wolves, lambs, lions and oxen (Is. 65: 25), and Paul speaks of the entire created order (Rom. 8: 21). There will be work for the saints to do. As with Adam in the Garden of Eden, they must tend and nurture the earth as an expression of dominion or “ruling” (cf. Gen. 1: 26, 28; 2: 15). In this and in other ways, they shall worship and serve God (Rev. 21:3; 22: 3, 5).
The promise of a “new heavens and a new earth” is first of all a promise of the restoration of creation to its pristine condition before the Fall; the way it was in ‘the day’ that God created it and pronounced it as “very good” (Gen. 1: 31). From our present perspective, this restoration will mean radically changed life conditions for us and for the whole created order
I too, look eagerly for His coming and the culmination of this age.

While there are various descriptions of the New Jerusalem aka Heaven throughout the Book of Revelation, I know all believers in Christ wonder extensively about this. More detailed, like when Jesus said "I go to prepare a place for you"....just how awesome will that place be; which is being designed and made by a former carpenter....;lol!!!
It's silly, but....I remember being about 6 yrs old and asking my mom to tell me about heaven.....and she said there would probably be colors we never knew existed, as well as foods, and flowers and all that.
Either way, even if it were a white room, as long as GOD Almighty dwelt therein with us, it would be GLORY! As heaven is described in scripture to be "sunless", bc' HIS very presence will be the light that guides us. And the bottom line here is that where the Spirit of the Lord is; there is light, love, liberty and freedom. No more tears, pain, struggle and sin. Hell, on the otherhand, with all it's varying descriptions in scripture; will be nonstop, neverending pain and gnashing of teeth....but the worst of this being......THE VERY ABSENCE OF GOD, HIS HOLY SPIRIT AND CHRIST JESUS. Where there will not be one moments' rest from the agony that hell entails.
All of our questions will be answered, and we will one day walk, remain and abide in the Spirit of the MOST HIGH YAHWEH! amen and amen <>< <>< <><

Will we ALL get up there?... Remember this: 'Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.' (Matthew 7:14)

If our existence is improbable so much so that a supreme being had to create us, then I say that the creation of a supreme being is that much more improbable.
For that reason, there is no heaven or hell.

It will be terminal boredom. Everyone sat around singing "Kumbaya" and being nice, and washing their car every Sunday morning. Think "Stepford Wives"
