It all depends on the nature of the Governing Authority & Economic / Literacy levels of the individual country.

For. Eg. 'Saudi Arabia a Sunni Islamic State' & 'Iran a Shia Islamic State' are regarded to be most conservative and orthodox. The women's rights in these countries are almost non existent.

But on the other hand if one looks at Turkey ,Malaysia or for that matter Indonesia. These Islamic countries allow a fair amount of freedom to their women folks with very few restrictions imposed in certain matters. Womens in these countries are also actively involved in the collective decision making process of their respective nations.policies.

Other examples being America & Ireland both Christian states.
Whereas America is the most liberal amongst the democracies in providing womens with equal rights in everything in relation to its male citizens, But Ireland still refuses to allow abortion rights to its female citizens. and in many ways is considered to be very orthodox despite their high economic status & its educated people in majority.

Finally its depends on the literacy levels added with economic prosperity and a very liberal minded governing set up and of course unhindered right to freedom of every individuals expression regardless of gender. All this factors combining, results in the maximum freedom and protection for the women folks anywhere in the world regardless of religious followings.

Yes.
in the bible it declares the word of God that women are to submit to their husbands. but thats just the beginning!
it also says that women should remain silent in the church if you are talking about christian bias?
it also says that women can only be forgiven in child bearing!

but a woman who bears a child out of wedlock is a fornicator! and therefore cannot be assumed to be forgiven.
it is also a sin for a woman to usurp her husbands authority. which is the same thing as saying ALL women who usurp priesthood authority in the church are in direct rebellion against God.
but then again, most people dont understand these verses.
A wife enjoins to the husbands priesthood, and duties of the marriage and family are separated under a plan of mutual equality and love. usually according to each others strengths and through Love they become partners in overcoming the evil of this world. God ordained Marriage! and what God does... He does forever!

Yes , This is the case with every relegion. Womans are soft by body and that is the only reason why man is in a domonating state. At the time of monthly cyclic body behaviour and at the time of pregnancy woman need help of man to survive even. Man nature is "planning" and can organise themselves...while womans are mostly emotional and does not ever feel necessacity to organise and is satisied to be in shelter of man by custom, culture, religion bindings which are injected in a well cunningly planned silently accepted by man manner in their mind from the time of birth.
But still there are examples in history and in these days also, that woman are in a dominating position mostly in economically backward societies where woman supports man in their livelyhood.
There are examples , but rare countable on fingures where woman are given status of GODESS-MAHAKALI,MAHASARSWATI,MAHALAXMI,ETC like in HINDU -SANATAN DHARM . BUT PRACTICALLY IT IS NOT SO. Womans in these societies are being worshipped only in tamples or Pictures, sculptures & Monuments on festivales occasionally and practically they are being burnt simply on dowry cases, or made prostitutes in large numbers to satishfy sexual desire of man.
But in most of the societies, even in so called developed and advanced ones, womans are still being treated like SLAVES as a consumable material.

yeah, but to borrow an argument from the 'Church v. State' arena, organised religions are gender biased only because people are naturally gender biased, and people make up the Church.

Yes, because society has historically been heavily patriarchal. It is only recently that women have been given an equal legal status.
