how can i change 1 mega pixel photo to 5 mega pixel, with least loss of quality?

dood. are you serious?

anything over 1 megapixel is already a poster

however, photoshop uscales images very cleanly, if you have it or a friend that does

otherwise, take it to kinkos an use thier machines (they shoul have PS on them, confirm first)

What you are asking for is how to interpolate an image to a larger size. Like the previous post mentioned, Photoshop handles the job of interpolation the best, but like it was also mentioned if you are going to make such a radical jump in size, you are going to lose a lot of image quality and detail. Below is a link giving you a better idea of what interpolation is and what to do as far as upsampling is concerned

Alien Skin makes a Photoshop plugin called "Blow Up" that is ideal for doing this task. However, if you are only going to do this a few times it probably isn't worth the money. I'd try a local photo store, they might be able to upsize the image for you.

You have to change it within the camera. Some camera, such as Sony DSC-H1 or Canon Eos have resize feature, and the quality is good. (hope its ok to advertise something in here).

enlaege at kinko's or walmart photo center but it will lose alot of clarity
