I have a question regarding my 2004 Jeep Liberty. I have noticed within the last two months of a slight vibration at about 60-65mph. Does anyone know what the cause might be? I do not feel the vibration through the steering wheel. It starts at about 60 and usually goes away after I pass 65mph. Before the 60mph mark everything is smooth as glass. This is only a slight but noticable vibration. The car does not shimmy or buck or any loss of control.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Missing a weight? Mud in the rim? Bent rim? Separated Tire(though the vibration most likely wouldn't go away and would be noticeable at low speed too.) Could be some transfer case noise too, maybe a u-joint making noise. My old half ton used vibrate at the rear end at certain speeds.

Your two finalists confuse me. They're very different cars. The Liberty is a solid, do-it-all vehicle. Its main drawback is its poor gas mileage and its awkwardness on pavement. Remember that it's only off road that Jeeps truly shine. The Crossfire is a wannabe European sports car. It looks the part, but it doesn't act it. Underneath that sexy frame it's just like any other Chrysler: unathletic and unreliable. In short, go with the Jeep.

they are most likely out of balance. if i was you and those tires are still the ones that came from the factory and you still have the factory warranty i would go back and have the dealership check it out that way you may even get new tires out of it or theyll fix it for free because of warranty. if you got newer ones and bought it from a store take your car back ask if they can rebalance the tires and if they say no make a big scene and then they surely will.
