Ancestry.com are pretty good and have a free trial.

Church of LDS are pretty good too.

Familysearch.com (run by the chuch of latter day saints )is a good site particulary for births though don't take any results asabsolute better still it is free.You can also look up the 1881 census for free as well!

ancestry.com are a good site and you can get info for other sites through them. I have been able to trace back to the 1600's with them.
It is easy to use as well

I like genealogy.com. I especially like their genforum site.
