I would go with private ads in a newspaper or on bulletin boards nearby. You do know that an SPCA can have limited supplies and can't hold a dog forever, don't you? If you put your dog in a private ad, you will be able to interview a person who wants the dog and be able to see how they will treat the dog. If left in an SPCA, you may never hear anything about the dog again, and may never learn its whereabouts or who its with. Who knows? If left in the SPCA, some sicko might come in, take the dog while saying he's a nice guy, go home, and abuse it. You wouldn't want that happening, do you? Well, nor do I. I suggest you put your dog in a private ad.

Good luck, man. Tell your dog I said good luck too.

If you don't know anyone you'd feel comfortable with having her, try the Dogs Trust first. They vet every home and they won't put a healthy dog down. They also help new owners settle the dog in and do training classes.
Putting a dog in kennels for 2 - 4 weeks before rehoming helps them settle more quickly into their new home. If you just take them straight from one family to the next they wonder whats going on and try to geo 'home'. That would be upsetting for both you and the new owners.
You could also put an ad in the vets office but they won't vet the new owner.

well i've worked in rescue centers and some not all are not all that cracked up to be what they say they are. It's also very distressing to leave your dog there and for the poor dog.I would defiantly recomend trying to sell private,it's much easier for your dog to go straight into another home.If your rehoming her because she cannot be left there are loads of ways to combat this, such as crate training, beeing left in one room, behaviour training etc...If your sure on rehoming her though go private to increase her chances of getting a home, put a reasonable price for her as she is a crossbreed or even say free to a good home with owners at home all day.Good luck

going through the welfare centre you can at least feel a lot more at ease as anyone getting a dog from them is well vetted before being allowed to take a dog home

i got my dog from a cats and dogs home, it said on his papers that he was almost house trained but it turned out he had seperation anxiety, if i were you i would ask family members or put an ad in the loot, also i think you have to pay to put them in dogs home! i wouldnt put her in a dogs home though coz they dont get any attension much and it would be sad and hard to walk away from her!

good luck!

I'd place her myself That way I KNOW she'd have the best possible home, Try craigslist, scroll to the right and locate the city where you live, If they don't have one, look for the closest one

a private ad would be better. you can meet the new owners and maybe see their hse. advertise and tell eveyone you know. word gets around and somebody will know somebody that knows somebody(ETC!) who would love to have a staffi. Good luck.
