Yet more stupid things done be shelter people!

Shelter people know little about animal behavior, nor do many really want to adopt out dogs.

Surprise, surprise.

hmmmmmm what you said baffles me, because the SPCA should know where and what rehab. facilitation the pup was sent to. If you really want this certain pup then don't stop hunting til you find it somebody has to know something. It does sound strange a six week old with food aggression, cause if their in a cage with three other dogs or course they will be fighting over food, just being pups. Sounds like you might of found a bummer of a animal shelter. I live in Maine and i went to several shelters this summer hunting for a dog to rescue. I ended up traveling and hour and half away to this particular one, and they were great and very personable and would help you with any questions let you take the dogs out on a leash through trails they had in woods. Its been four months since we had Brady and they still call and check on him..........I understand your frustration and feel for you, don't give up if you decide not to pursue this pup and are still going to look to rescue another dog, just don't be in a hurry to do so, getting a dog from a shelter can be very trying, as the people who left the dogs there don't tell everything, plus its very stressful on the poor dog that gets taken there.........best of luck to you :)

forget about that dog, and start looking on craigslist in a city near you. Once at the web page I'm including, look to the far right and you'll see a long list of covered areas, look for your city or the ones near you. find the pet section and save a dog from ever having to go to the pound

All six week old pups are food aggressive. I would suspect they let the dog go to someone else. Just gave you a ridiculous excuse.

AWW poor baby . Never understood the shelters that say they want to find home for all the homeless animals but its almost as if you were adopting a child .All the qualifications and its kind of pricey too . Sorry about you luck . Hope everything works out for you
