I never what to do in those situations. I try to gauge men to see what they will say. Usually I offer, but if they insist I let them pay.

Sometimes a man just wants to feel like a man.

And most men want to be heroes. That doesn't oppress me. Why not let them?

Any man can take me to the most expensive restaurant in town and pay, just waiting for an invitation. If I eat in a restaurant with a male colleague, I normally say in advance, 'OK but 50/50' That way everything is clear. Men who make a fuss over the bill are undermining my self esteem. I'll shut up, say 'thank you' and avoid getting into the same situation a second time.
Are men so sensitive? It might be embarrassing if I trumped his gold card with my platinum.

Any man who feels embarrassed at a woman paying in a restaurant, in this day and age, must be horribly insecure.

Personally, I prefer simply to take it in turns to buy, it's a lot simpler than splitting up bills. The only thing that really embarrasses me when paying in a restaurant is when there are 8 people all insisting on splitting the bill differently and putting them on 8 separate credit cards!

I am not embarrased if women want status as friends then they can pay their share just like if I had a male friend and I always had to pay for him. How long would that last? I think it is wrong for a woman to let you pay and especially expensive checks and then tell you that she is only interested in you as a friend; right there she should cough up the money that you spent on her under another impression. But, I am not going to sleep with her just because she bought me dinner.

I can't speak for others but when I have a meal with my wife in a restaurant, I always hand over my wallet to her.

She pays the bills and tips liberally. I just love to see her doing it. The idea of embarrassment never crossed my mind.

If a woman offers to pay she gets my immediate respect. I am of course always happy to pay but I am really put off by double standards and have no time for women who bang on about equality and equal rights and then fully expect me to pay because I'm male and thats the way it is. I hate hypocrasy.

it gives them a sense of accomplishment and of course there is freedom of choice , not everyone feels okay being paid for all the time .

Bec women nowadays are as financially secured as men. Modern women think that expenses should be shared by couples. Same as household chores.

Oh the poor lambs, they're embarrassed, are they ? Tough.

If a dating couple go dutch, it means that the woman does not feel obliged to keep on dating/kissing/sleeping with someone when her heart is not 100% into it.

Get used to it, guys.

If a man asks me to dinner he pays the bill.
Since I cannot afford this luxury,
when I ask a man to dinner,
I prepare the meal.
