Right, I'll keep this short and sweet (or bitter?).
I suffer from depression and anxiety, also possibly (probably?) alcoholism, OCD, PTSD and a few other things.
Anyways, I'm on the waiting list for an assessment by a physcotherapist - probably will get conselling. I'm taking AD's and am under the care of my GP. I've never seen a specialist.
I've suffered from this for 7-8 years.
I'm fed up, and I'm reaching the bottom. I'm trying to ask for help, heck, I even told my GP I was suicidal today. Ahh, she increased my AD dosage, told me to come back in 10 days.
If this carries on (which I think it will, unlikely to just be cured) I think I'll have two options:- go to A&E and beg to be locked up, or kill myself.
I know which is more sensible. anyways, I'm not at that point now. But bloody near.
Is there anything ANYTHING I can do now? Any other help?
Thankies muchly for taking the time to read this :)

It's a toughie...
I suffer with depression and axiety also and take anti-depressants to "help me"! I also drink too much and eat too much... which further adds to my feeling of worthlessnes and hopelessness. I cannot understand why no one, not even my GP, seems to understand. Sometimes I really do feel that everyone would be better without the pain that I feel I cause them.
Some days I'm ok... but it really doesn't take a lot to trip me downwards... and it's a long way down.... and it's always a quick fall...
I have a reasonable job, a loving wife and family and very good friends... they are probably the only reason that I will see another Christmas!
So what do you do? Struggle on is the only answer. Find a support group if you can, with people that are suffering the same as you do.
I cannot offer anymore help than that... sorry...
Also... Yahoo Answers actually does help... I find that I can release anger and sarcasm on here and it does little harm.
God bless.. I hope that everything is ok.

You poor thing. OK, change your doctor, the current one sounds useless. Never forget the samaritans, they are fantastic 08457 90 90 90 and this is what they do best. Don't forget, this may also be a physical thing, I have a friend that has a deficiency and it makes him similar to you. If it relates to something that has happened to you and you have no-one in your family/friend circle, write it all down, every last feeling abouth the subject. Sometimes a diary helps.
Most important thing is, hold on in there! The help is available in time. This is a cr@ppy time of year for the best of us, let alone those suffering, but it is after all just another time and day.
The best thing is that you are sensible enough to see this for yourself as you are asking for help, this and maybe only this will get you through. But don't forget the samaritans.
I promise things will get better.
You take care out there!

Hi
I more or less know how you feel.I am biopolar as well as suffering from depression.
Bipolar is serious mood swings.Over the top, superiority complex, the next hour suicidal.
Itt has been sorted through a combination of AD"s as well as mood stabelizers.
To start off with, try not to make mountains out of mole hills.Think as rationally as possible.
Secondly, your GP has to find the right AD that will work for YOU.
They are not all the same,as in there active ingredient. Also for them to up the dosage and come back in ten days is a joke, with all due respect.AD"s take awhile to work, the effect of increasing the dosage,is going to easy take about 14 days minimum.
Dont kill yourself, its not worth it.I realise I dont know your situation, but hang in there,it can be sorted out for sure.
take care

Delhi Ka Aangan (Hyatt Regency), Darbar (Ashoka inn) and Corbetts (Claridges) are between the strategies available contained in the high priced selection, collectively as Gulati eating place (Pandara industry), Angeethi (Asiad Village) and Degchi (Regal construction) are between those catering to greater modest budgets a favourite dish contained in the North of India is Chaat and is on the whole vegetarian yet could be made up of Samosas, Papdi, and Golgapas - all good stuff. Your ideal maximum of what we predict of as 'Indian foodstuff' it incredibly is served on your close by takeaway is Bangladeshi foodstuff - very distinctive!! What i might say is that for the duration of India they'll do something to thrill so in the experience that your husband sees something that he fancies yet needs it milder, greater tremendously spiced etc ultimate element to so is ask for the dish to be altered and that they'll do it as a super type of the foodstuff would be cooked clean.. wish this facilitates. I am suffering from PTSD. You could try ringing ASSIST Trauma Care, who specialise in helping people cope with PTSD. I am currently receiving counselling from this organisation and have found them to be extremely helpful.
Check out their website for information. You can either contact them on their helpline or via email

I was in a similar position myself once and I felt that I might go as far as suicide without help. Please ignore the people who say you are seeking attention - you need it. Go to A and E they will admit you if they think it will help. But beware, you may end up back at the bottom of the psychotherapist's list, because you will be classed as a 'bigger risk of harm'. That's what happened to me anyway.

You poor thing! Yes, I have been desperate and about to do myself in so I know what I am talking about. Please find someone to talk to, preferably a counsellor or psychotherapist and start talking. There are counselling services in my area, you will need to do research for a means tested counselling service in your own area. Knock on every door until you find someone who will help you. Do whatever it takes, move house if you need to to get the help you need. Then, when you start talking it will take years, but things will get better and better gradually until you have your life back. Email me if you need more info.
