After experiencing some problems during a visit to a Marriot Hotel, we have been placed on 'VIP Status' for our forthcoming trip to the Brussels Marriott Hotel in Belgium. What can we hope to expect? Or is it their way of informing the hotel that we're 'Very Irritating People'.

I have been a Platinum VIP member of Marriott Hotels for many years.
Upgraded to a suite, free of charge [if available]. Cue jealous stares from the boss who is in a standard room....he he.
It usually means a single phone call takes care of the booking, not having to give the credit card over the phone, limo booked to get you from the airport, met at the hotel by the manager opening the limo door, and you go straight to your room - where the manager 'checks you in' via the phone in the room whilst you relax and unpack with your complimentary food, fruit etc.
And you will have access to the evening-time exec lounge [basically free alcohol - as much as you like, with all the other execs].
I'm down to 'just' Gold membership now, but I still get some free perks, but nothing like Platinum / VIP.

Very Important Person at the Marriott means that you will get your bags carried everywhere, you may get free chauffeur to airport (we did), nice freebies like fruit in your room and generally getting everything really quickly like room service. Enjoy!
