I am buying some winter golfing gloves for a friend for Xmas but I haven't got a clue where to start! I don't want to spend too much money but they need to be very good quality.

Without a doubt go for Footjoy, they are the orginal quality golf glove. Their winter gloves - wintersof are good for poor weather. They also have large range of leather and synthetic gloves for all conditions.
Go to your nearest golf course / golf shop and ask the pro, they will recommend footjoy but exxplain which is best for your friend.

Footjoy is the best in terms of popularity, function, and price.

But Zero Restriction is the best, especially for winter and rain golf. They are more expensive though.
