See your doctor right away. It could be a vitamin deficiency. But it can also be a sign of something worse. Check it out.

You are presenting 2 problems here.. one is a case of capillary fragility which many answers can be found on a web search.
The other problem concerns the top of the spine. Which is suggestive of it being at the base of the skull. If that is what you are inferring, that soreness is evidence of an inflammatory process in action. Should this process involve enough of the cranial nerves, it will also be having an effect on the autonomic nervous system which would cause pupil dilation as well as dilation of the blood vessels. This would make you a bit more susceptible to the capillary fragility. There may be need to treat both at the same time, as the vessel fragility also indicates a problem with lack of certain needed vitamins. Vitamin C being on the top of the list of others.
I would suggest you consider a visit to a doctor of Chiropractic and get the necessary advice and help for the condition.

You may just be bruising very easily, so the bumps that are causing the bruises aren't memorable. Being anemic (having low iron,) can cause easy bruising. Try an iron supplement.

Go see a doctor this could be a very serious condition especially with your spine. If the swelling inyour spine goes away you may be anemic which is a lack of iron in your blood. have you felt fatigued recently?

do you take asprin or asprin based products as these can thin the blood and cause bruising easier than usual. do you take warfarin?
if you use asprin based products ie iburpofen then stop /speak to your doctor or pharmacist. if you take warfarin go see your gp.
if the answer is no to all of the above then see your gp asap you will need to have some blood tests. good luck and have a merry christmas.

Those tender black and blue marks on your body are often reminders of an accidental bump, although they can be signs of an underlying health condition. According to research or other evidence, the following self-care steps may help reduce bruising:

Most likely it means nothing but if you haven't talked to your doctor about it I think you should. So give your doctor a call and make a routine apt. I know that there are conditions such as anemia that could tie in.

I used to bruise easily - I read that taking at least 500mg of Vitamin C would help - I tried it and it did help!

go to a dr immediately
it maybe just coincidence or signs of something which needs to be treated and only a dr can tell you, usually after history+exam+tests
