I have never felt guilty of masturbation though I have sex with my girlfriend.
I thing that they say like that as they did not want people who are not baptiziesd to have pleasure since they are not liked for marriage relationships.
Masturbation is great fun to me.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.

With love in Christ.

Masturbation is not a sin and I am a believer, lusting after someone you are not married to is a sin, I know because it's my biggest struggle. I believe most people masturbate and it is not in itself a sinful thing to do.

I would suggest that people read "Bringing up Boys" by Dr. James Dobson. This book explains a lot about male sexuality and how it relates to the Bible.

God Bless

By the way, don't group all Christians together, we differ in many ways, hopefully we all want to see to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior but in many other things we are very different.

I've heard a very, very few believers say this. Their reason is that they believe masturbation is a type of sex that is outside of marriage. However, back in the 1970's Billy Graham wrote a book called "Masturbation: A gift from God". In it he contended that masturbation was a good way to remain a virgin until marriage without having to "burn" with passion all the time. Peace.

Believers say that what ever you do should give you happiness thereafter. Some feel miserable after masturbating and some of the earliest believers might have felt the same after masturbating and branded it as sinfull. If you help somebody you will feel good in the inside, but in masturbation it may not be so.

Many believers think that it depends. I am a Christian and I love God with all of my heart, and I think masturbation is okay as long as when you are masturbating you are not thinking lustful thoughts. In my opinion, believers that think that it is always a sin have minds that can not comprehend masturbating and not lusting. It is important to realize that pure masturbation, the way that God intended for it to be done, is about thinking about the pure love and joy that you would get from your partner from having beautiful, pure , and wonderful sex.

The source to existance of human life in this world is, 'sprum'. The sex with no intention to bring the new life to earth is considered as sin full act. Thus enjoying the proceses of mastrubation & go on finishing your own capability of giving a birth to new life. Also priventing mustrubation is not about staying away from girls but keeping the life source within self & in Its pure form.

I don't think the bible quotes masturbation as a sin until the later tranlsations. The only thing that comes close to it is "Man shalt not waste this seed on barren land" or something like that." And that can mean a multute of things.

It is great fun to everyone ! You will notice that most things that are natural, enjoyable and that everyone does are considered "sinful". That's the domination through guilt trick : Declare that things that people tend to do often is a "sin"and that you should feel guilty. Then if you come to me, you will be forgiven etc.... Sounds familiar ?

Meanwhile, keep doing what you enjoy. It healthy, natural and pleasant and it does not harm anyone.

I personally don't think it's black or white. It may or may not be a sin depending on the situation.
If two people are apart and very much in love and they miss each other, if they are masturbating when they think of one another, in my opinion that is harmless. But if, a husband is upstairs looking a pictures of other women, masturbating and this disturbs his wife because she knows, don't you think that he is doing something wrong?
