Basically killing human beings or taking the life of another human being is an offence. The offender if found guilty can be punished with death penalty or imprisonment, depending on the law of the countries.
Please understand that not all countries allow abortion. In some countries, their laws say it is an offence to have an abortion except for medical (health) reason.

Sister, I am too am Pro-choice, & against abortions, The only way I would think a abortion is neessary, If It is going to kill the mother, & then that too is their own decision. Because if the mother dies, & that baby will never know what it will be like touching his mothers face.Yes it is true that many mothers gave their lives for that baby, & there is also that other side that you have that is called survival. It is a hard decisions, But these that play wih fire & get an abotion, They are in a different boat, They want to play the game, But not put money, Time, & Patince into it , They both want to run & do it all over again. To me those people should be Shot. From My 1st day of Marriage to my 1st wife, I knew that I had a responsiblity, & I was only 18 at that time, & I keep that respondsiablity for 21 yrs. & now since I am remarried since my 1st wife is deceased, WE have more thing in common, Than I did with my 1st wife. The laws of the USA & in fact just about every country now, allows abortions. God help Them. & May God have mercy on them. Judgement day is coming soon.

I don't see it as a double standard. Just like you I am pro-choice, but you have to live with the choices you make and no one else. The reason killing your baby is punishable by the death penalty is because you have other options. If you realize after your aby is born that you don't want the baby you can take that child to any hospital and give the baby up for adoption. Why kill a child? The reason it is legal to have an abortion is because it hasn't been made illegal yet.

No matter how you try to sugarcoat it, abortion is taking the life of a growing, developing baby. "Taking the life of" is really too soft a term for it - "killing in a premeditated, violent fashion" is more appropriate. Label it a fetus if you like, but it is still a living being.
True, that unborn child depends on the mother to sustain it, but so does a newborn baby. A baby doesn't have the ability to care for and feed itself. Without the aide of another, it would die.
If a mother decided her day old newborn was going to be too much of an inconvenience for her and starved it to death by withholding nourishment and proper care, it would be a crime. What if she protested, "But it's my life! For 9 months, it was a 'parasite' living off my body, and now that it's been removed, it's my choice to do what I want with it!" There would be public cries of outrage! I don't see how abortion is any different.
Abortion devalues human life in it's most innocent form. This is an injustice we should all be concerned with.

Pro-choice is a double standard, I have three children and I saw them at a very early stage through ultrasounds. I heard their heartbeats.
It should be called single choice, or over riding choice because it takes the choice away from one person involved in the murder and gives it to the other.
I am not trying to be mean or insensitive about this, just using my common sense. God said he knew us in our mothers womb. I sang to my children in their mothers womb, I am glad they are alive.
I helped someone to have an abortion when I was young, I did not understand and I have to live with my sin forever, I will see that child in heaven and they and God know what I did. I am truly sorry for my part in that sinful act. I thank God that my sin has been forgiven.
Life is a precious thing, many can't have children and they understand this better than most. My wife and I struggled for years trying to have kids but have been blessed with three. I can not imagine them not being alive.
Life would be less without them. I am sure life is less without all those that have been aborted. Society says as long as it doesn't hurt anyone you can do anything. Society says everything is subjective or relative.
Society is part and parcel owned and operated by the prince of the power of the air (devil) and I don't listen to it. Society will tell you what you wish to hear, it will be kind to you and lead you along with the crowd.
I choose a different path, a more narrow path with Jesus. I am happy to know that I don't belong in this world and don't fit with those that would kill and steal. I hope you see the truth in this.
God Bless

I can not think of any women that have been given the death penalty for killing a baby. I know of some men that have been given life in prison for causing a woman to have an abortion. even when it has been at her request. No charges were placed on her. Yes there are many double standards but not the way you think.

Becuase people are stupid and try to say when a baby is actually a human. Even in our constitution it states that everyone is entighteled to the right to life. Thus abortion breaks the "unalienable rights" given to us through the constitution. Abortion is evil. It is all about the self, and the wilingness to sacrifice a child, your own no less, to preserve your life style.
Abortion is fear, fear of losing what you have, losing you goals and dreams.
Abortion is blind, blind of what could have been. The good, the bad, but most importantly the love.
Abortion comes back. I've seen it b4 w my aunt. Now she lives her days high in clouds on drugs

It is and the law only legalizes certain kinds of murder .Some unborn babies and justifiable homicide. they don't seem to legalize justifiable perjury though for some strange reason .?
And the murder of murderers is another inconsistency . The arresting officer is restricted from unnecessary killing but not the judge and jury in capital states. go figure another double standard as you put it so very well .
peace out

For me one an egg and sperm unite it is a life, they way god intended LIFE to begin. Abortion is murder plain and simple, pregnancy isn't something that is inconvenient, it is a blessing, but those who play around without protection are going to be the ones who don't want a child. It isn't as if there were no other alternatives....ADOPTION...why kill a baby who someone could and would love. To me abortion is a selfish act, it is murder, but I do not believe in the death pent either, but I do believe in punishment for causing another ones death.

The controversy has always focused around when the "fetus" becomes a "life". Instead of debating the morality of abortion, those who have issues with it should debate when the fetus becomes a liviing human being. If one side can convince the other as to when life actually begins, the argument would be over.
For the record, I am against abortion.
