its not bad for them if they ate some, it wont kill them. but they wont get the same nutrition they get from their own food.

My dog loves cat food. She will not eat dog food over the cat food. She has been doing this for years and no health problems have occured.
There's not a lot of difference between cat food and dog food. However, cat food contains more fat and protein in which will have your dog gain more weight than eating dog food. This is really the only difference between the two.

Cat food isn't necessarily "bad" for dogs. Cat food tends to be richer/fatier. depending on the dog, (it sometimes gives mine diareah). Small dogs seem to do better on cat food than bigger dogs. the kibble is smaller which makes it easier for small dogs to eat. Canned food of any kind (dog or cat) is fine for either of them but you should feed some dry food also... this helps keep their teeth healthier. not as much tartar build up. Your dog may get fatter on cat food, but if it's coat looks glossy and it is not getting overweight then it is fine. if you still are not sure, compare the nutritional labels on dog food and cat food and then decide. make sure your dog is getting a balanced diet. If it is not. its coat will be dull, or dry, skin dry, eyes dull, no energy etc....

No cat food is not bad for dogs. When my dog had leg surgery, the vet actually recommended feeding my dog 2/3 cat food and 1/3 dog food to help her lose weight.

Cat food is higher in protein. It will give your dog the runs and if kept on it long enough, he'll gain weight. It wouldn't kill him though. No more than you eating your cat's food. It's just not ideal for his body.

I believe so. But a really big difference is the fat content. Cat food is higher. Which is why dogs like it so much.

I can't be too sure.. but I've always heard that you arent supposed to let your dogs eat cat food. My old dogs used to, and they would always turn up sick. So, I'm sure it can't be good for them.
