Have you asked her? She may just be restless, or the walking at night helps prevent muscle aches, and since she's up anyway . . . .
Older people have very strange sleep cycles anyway. It seems to be more cat-napping than a good night's sleep. My husband's grandfather finally had to take a mild sedative so he didn't wander around at night. If she still has her wits about her, I'd say let her do it -- the exercise is beneficial. If she is getting senile, though, you may think about sleeping pills.

as we age-our bladder control (among other things) tends to slow down. so she is not able to control urges to urinate as well as she used to
in addition, caffeine is a diuretic which means, it causes the body to produce more urine than normal, which causes more trips to the bathroom. i know that if i drink coffee during my awake hours-i will have to get up in the middle of sleeping at least twice to go to the bathroom.
medication could play a role as well. if she is taking lasix or something similar (often referred to as a "water pill") then she will urinate more often b/c the pill is designed to rid the body of excess water to prevent high blood pressure and aide with medical conditions such as congestive heart failure (heart stopping due to water buildup around the heart).
if she is taking the lasix AND drinking caffeine-she will be in the bathroom all night!!
i would suggest cutting the caffeine out almost entirely and talking to the dr about any medications that could be causing the problem-this has to be frustrating for her-sleep is important at any age!!

it truly is an city legend, a myth. This tale has been humming round for some a lengthy time period and seems to regulate a touch anytime this is informed. LOL. There are countless transformations to this tale, which incorporates - the canines belonged to the former lady, and putting it in the oven became how she dried her canines, yet she only befell to be baking cookies (this section transformations too) that evening so she placed the canines in the microwave. yet another is the position an previous lady is petsitting her neighbor's terrier, the canines were given moist in the rain on a walk, so back in the microwave it is going! and so on, and so on, and so on. this is not any longer authentic.

there is a term for this in TCM (traditional chinese medicine), but i can't remember what it is.
her age is a factor too.
but it's treatable naturally with chinese herbs. if she is willing, she can try TCM.

the more important question, i think, is why do you know that.. and more importantly why do you think about it enough to post a question about it.
