Condition Based Maintenance is a system that uses real-time data to prioritize and optimize maintenance resources. That system will determine the equipment's health, and act only when maintenance is actually necessary.
It is Department of Defense policy that Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) be "implemented to improve maintenance agility and responsiveness, increase operational availability, and reduce life cycle total ownership costs
Coalbed methane, or coalbed gas, refers to methane deposits in the pores of coal seams. It is also referred to as 'sweet gas' because of its relative lack of hydrogen sulfide. It is created by the same process by which plant material is converted to coal. The presence of this gas is well known from its occurrence in underground coal mining, where it presents a serious safety risk. Coalbed methane, often referred to as CBM, is distinct from a typical sandstone gas reservoir, as the methane is stored within the coal by a process called adsorption. The methane is in a near-liquid state, lining the inside of pores within the coal (called the matrix). The open fractures in the coal (called the cleats) can also contain free gas or can be saturated with water.

In fire fighting, CBM is chlorobromomethane or Halon 1011.
The numerical designation means there is one chlorine, no fluorine, one bromine and one methane in the compound.
