I have my disability hearing tomorrow. I am normally very depressed and am bi-polar.

As I am sitting here trying prepare for the hearing as I'm scared to death and have to be able to explain so much, and so much is on the line,
I keep laughing and laughing uncontrollably.

I thought I'd probably break down crying in the hearing, now I think I might break down in laughter.

What do you think if they hear me laughing all the way through my symptoms?

What can I do???

They may think the symptoms aren't real if I'm laughing about them, like I made them up, and I didn't!

Make a list of what really is bothering you,and look at them while everyone else is talking. and if you do laugh when you are speaking, which I think once you get in there you won't j,ust apoligize and say that public speaking makes you really nervous and then you can't stop laughing. That will let them see this is just another symptom of how life can be rough for you.

I to am bipolar. At my hearing I told them I can not control my emotions when i am nervous. I laughed and cryed and could not keep my mind on their questions, I wiggled in my seat, i did the best I could and in the end I was approved.

Just be yourself! One of the symptoms of bipolar is inappropriate laughter. Who knows you may even start to cry as well. Good luck! Try to get some sleep.

Tell the judge ahead of time that sometimes instead of crying you burst into laughter and that if you do you want to appologize ahead of time.

I cried by about the 2nd word that came out of his mouth.. he was great, understanding.. at first before i cried i think he thought i was just another loafer..

idk what they'll think, but laughing is a normal response to stress. i usually laugh when i get in trouble but it's a nervous scared laugh, but i end up getting in more trouble then if i laugh when someone's yelling at me
