So im getting a tattoo of a bass guitar and i cant decide whether the neck/ head of the bass should be at my wrist and the body on my forearm or visa versa with the head at my wrist its right side up to me and fits the shape of my arm.. but with it the other way its right side up to everyone else.. thoughts?

Personally, I think the neck of the guitar would look better pointing towards the elbow...
but that's just me.
Go see your tattoo artist. They can put the stencil on both ways (even on both arms at once, so you can compare!), so you can decide which you like without just having to imagine it.

Why don't you try with the neck of the bass guitar facing you as it will be more prominent when others shake hands with you and they see the base of the guitar facing them? That will leave a lasting impression on others.

I'd have it upright with the neck on your forearm. The tattoo artist is going to put it on you as a print first to see what it looks like before they actually start doing it. You'll be able to tell if you think it looks funny then.

Picturing something like that in my head.... I think it would be cool to position it on your arm to where it mimicks you playing a guitar. Look at it as, no matter what you always have your guitar in your hand... After all it is for yourself. But if your into showing them off, then make it to where its facing people when you show them.

your tattoo should always be right side up to people facing you. it really does look better. my sister in law has a tiny heart tattooed on her foot and it is facing her, so when i look at it, it looks like hanging nuts, so i call ner nuts foot.
